A different face - inspired by "Artificial Beauty" - Mediacorp Ch 8, Thu, 11.15 pm

looks do matter in society, as do other norms - when a person departs from the norm, he becomes unpopular. The leading lady in this story was an ugly gal who went for a complete full-body plastic surgery - chin, cheek, nose, chest, liposuction. She's been ridiculed about her looks since young, and has always yearned for someone to say 'i love u' to her... after her plastic surgery, she looks stunning and works as a model. But i guess the most endearing part about her is really her character - she boldly pursues what she wants. she seeks love earnestly, to the extent of undergoing a full-body surgery. after her surgery she fell for a ikebana (flower arrangement) artist- who loves nature, and hates artificial flowers...

and she struggles inside whether to reveal the truth to him - somehow i feel it's an amplified version of everyday life. everyone has little secrets dat we hide from people - to present a more acceptable, presentable side...
